Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Anime-Bu, the anime watchlist and community service at animebu.app (“Anime-Bu”, “the service”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
Anime-Bu lets members keep a watchlist, rate and discuss anime, and share those ratings within clubs and friend circles. Access is by invitation or approval. We may add, change or remove features as the service develops.
2. Accounts
You sign in through Discord or Google; we do not hold a password for you. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping the sign-in methods attached to it secure. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that is higher. One person, one account.
3. Your content
Ratings, reviews, posts and other material you submit remain yours. You grant Anime-Bu a non-exclusive licence to store, display and distribute that content within the service, to the members you have chosen to share it with, for as long as it remains on the service. Deleting content or your account ends that licence, except for copies held in backups for a limited period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to harass, threaten or impersonate others; post content that is unlawful, hateful or infringes someone's rights; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its data; or use automated means to scrape, overload or disrupt it. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.
5. Third-party services
Show information, artwork and recommendations are provided by AniList; episode ratings by IMDb; episode images by TMDB; sign-in by Discord and Google. These services are governed by their own terms and are outside our control. Anime-Bu is not affiliated with any of them, and the availability of features that depend on them may vary. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and your data intact, and we maintain backups, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may suspend the service for maintenance, and we may modify or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects you, we will make reasonable efforts to give notice within the service.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anime-Bu disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings; this removes your content as described in our privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, after reasonable notice where practical.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published here with its date. Material changes will be announced within the service before they take effect, and continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
10. Premium
Premium is an optional paid plan, billed monthly or yearly in advance in the currency shown to you at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. The plan renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from Settings: it then runs to the end of the period already paid for and stops, with no further charge. Because the period is paid in advance, we do not refund it once it has started, except where the law requires it. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for about a week and lets you know; if it still fails, the plan ends and your Premium features switch off until you subscribe again. Anything you set up with Premium is kept aside and restored when you return. We may change the price for future periods with notice within the service.
